It is the beginning of a new era for the County Air Ambulance after the introduction of a new helicopter service in Staffordshire, together with a large fundraising appeal. Chairman of the Council, South Staffordshire, councillor Ms Patricia Griffin officially launched Staffordshire Air Ambulance appeals before the new district Somerford helicopters in the hall near Stafford.
County Air Ambulance has recently announced its decision to base aircraft in Staffordshire and work has been ongoing since July on the establishment of a permanent place for the helicopter service. The new helicopters will be number four in the park, the county záchranku largest air carriers in Britain
The Air Ambulance is entirely from public donations and corporate sponsorship, allowing aircraft to fly over two rescue missions per month. County Air Ambulance Charity calls a "Staffordshire Air Ambulance Appeal 'to raise £ 1 million over the next twelve months in order to support the new service.
Paul Weir, fundraising manager for the development of the County Air Ambulance is confident the people of Staffordshire will fully support the call: "We have always received generous donations from people, the future of the Staffordshire County Air Ambulance. With the advent of new aircraft, based in Staffordshire, it is necessary that increased for 1 million pounds to offer first-class helicopter service for patients throughout the region. "
Councillor Griffin asked local communities across Staffordshire to support the Air Ambulance appeal: "This public collections, it is necessary if we want to support the work of the County Air Ambulance in our district.
