County Air Ambulance will be better this year, when it opens the doors to the public to the County Air Ambulance annual open day, visited in Strensham in Worcestershire. Miss Worcester, Bella Rosa styles, will officially open the event at 10:30 on Saturday, 13 September Strensham air base, just from Strensham services from the M5 north.

In the past year, a record £ 14000 increased the day of the open door. In September Charity should be significantly improved in this figure is a wide range of visiting researchers organizations, including the police aircraft, Hereford & Worcester Fire Service, helicopters, vintage and classic cars, not to mention the ambulance-Star Show - the region and the Air Ambulance Flight crews.

Operating crews from the County Air Ambulance base at Strensham in Worcestershire took a major role in a Sky News feature in road traffic incidents. Subjektu stations filmed at Strensham helicopters and flight crew in action throughout the region in July. The production team was so impressed by what they had seen that they are made to return to Worcestershire base in August that the program live on Sky News all day long.

60 Squadron from RAF Shawbury in Shropshire will be taking on the challenge of getting a brightly coloured old banger from Staples to Naples in September, all for County Air Ambulance.

The rally takes place over the weekend of the 19th to 22nd September and covers a distance of at least 1400 miles, Although it's called Staples to Naples, the rally actually starts in Calais (France) and finishes in Naples, Italy with around 130 teams competing.

The teams have to adhere to strict rules which include that the entered car cannot be worth more than £100, must be older than 1995, but must still be taxed, have a current MOT, insured and roadworthy.

The teams are set various challenges to complete over the four days, not least of which will be negotiating tricky Alpine passes in very old cars, and making it intact to Naples.

There is a final prize of £1000 awarded to the team that gains the most points from the various challenges set. If successful the teams also plan to donate this to the chosen charity.

The Air Ambulance Service in Gloucestershire, to ensure that on the basis of an agreement on the future adaptation of resources in the region.


Historically, County Air Ambulance Charity is a provider of medical helicopter services in Gloucestershire. However, the new Great Western Air Ambulance Charity, is now operational and is expected to assume the role over the next twelve months. In the meantime, the two welfare organisations have to cooperate in the procurement of funds in Gloucestershire.


Speaking about the new rules, Paul Leaman, director of the County Air Ambulance Charity said: "Both charity organizations wanted any public confusion when he came to a fundraising for Gloucestershire Air Ambulance. This agreement will support charitable organizations, which allows County Air Ambulance to increase necessary resources to maintain the existing Air Ambulance services in this area. At the same time the agreement gives the new Great Western Charity chance to increase resources to support its new air traffic controllers within the province. "


Paul Weir, director of the Great Western Air Ambulance Charity welcomes the new scheme: "Both charity organizations are working together in Gloucestershire for the Air Ambulance is a very sensible approach. This means that the citizens can continue to pledge financial support for Gloucestershire Air Ambulance, probably knowing that money is to support existing and new services Great Western Air Ambulance Charity. "


County Air Ambulance operates in the Midlands and the Welsh borders region and receives no government or lottery funding. Charity must fundraise £ 5.6 million per year to the helicopter rescue service continue to fly throughout the region.

County Air Ambulance is the first Air Ambulance services in the country on the supply of state-of-the-art helicopter-mobile command and control units, as part of its overall plan to respond to major emergencies. The device is designed as a mobile command and support, rather than dealing with the safe and orderly flow of air traffic ambulance flights, should the event of a disaster incidents occur anywhere in the Midlands.
County helicopter service currently operates three aircraft, secondary and offers service with neighbouring regions. As part of its close cooperation with emergency planning team in the West Midlands Ambulance Service, is £ 30000 mobile command unit was assigned to the County Air Ambulance in WMAS play an important role if the unthinkable happened
New Air Ambulance mobile command unit is the first of its kind in the country. A LOCAL village has given the air ambulance its just desserts after hosting a ‘Pudding Party’ in aid of their favourite charity.

The evening event was held on Friday 1st August at Woolhope Parish Hall, Woodhope near Hereford. On offer were over fifty varieties of dessert made by locals and later consumed for charity. The evening also included a raffle, bring and buy and children’s face painting.

Organisers Ruth Whitting and Elaine Pudge from Woolhope where delighted by the turn out. Ruth said:
“We were very pleased and thankful to all those who contributed to the event. Everyone enjoyed the evening and we managed to raise over £932 for our chosen Charity, County Air Ambulance”
Annie Newell, area fundraising manager for County Air Ambulance was on hand to sample some of the puddings:

”It was great to meet such lovely people at this fantastic Pudding Party in aid of the Helicopter charity. It was an excellent response from villagers who obviously really enjoy their desserts.”
